Here's the latest installment of my photography... These are done with my new Canon 20D camera Brian bought for me. I'm still learning all the ins and outs of digital photography, but I'm having tons of fun! (Click on the images to see them larger.)
I am trying to get photos of swans, but it has proved difficult to find any around here. We found ourselves at a pond in Claremore with one swan, but it refused to get in the water to make a great photo op for me. Brian decided to intimidate the swan by holding out his "wings" so it would retreat to the water. You can see how upset the swan was by his show of power! The second photo is my only good photo of a swan so far. It was taken on the grounds of Rhema Bible College in Tulsa. I was in the right place at the right time to catch the swan as well as a rainbow in the fountain...
These were taken at the Tulsa Zoo's Wings of Wonder exhibit. I got a little carried away that day and took 600 photos of the butterflies. Praise God for digital!
OK, so I get a little obsessed... Since I originally set up this page, I have made two more trips to the zoo to try for better photos of the butterflies. My count for butterfly photos is now somewhere around 1400... It was worth all the time, though. I'm now getting a higher percentage of good pictures. Here are some of my favorites. (The first three are from the chrysalis house.)
I spent a couple days last week taking photos of sunflowers, and these are my favorite. The last one is my overall favorite. Just so you know how obsessive I am, I have almost 300 of these! Yea for digital!
These are part of a book I made for Brian where all the illustrations were of various candy. They were my first experience of using my new Alien Bees studio lights. The "water" in the first photo is actually Jello. I had to put one of the flash units underneath it to bring out the color.
